Expert Property Mutation Assistance
Property Mutation is the process of updating ownership details in the records of the concerned municipal authority or the Department of Land & Land Reforms after a property changes hands. Although mutation does not by itself establish ownership, it records the name of the new owner for property tax assessment and maintenance of government land records.
In West Bengal, property mutation is generally required after the purchase of a property, inheritance, gift deed, partition, court decree, or any other lawful transfer. Timely mutation helps ensure that municipal and land records accurately reflect the current ownership.
The required documents may vary depending on the type of property and the mode of ownership transfer.
